$150/month establishes your offering as a Sangha Angel. It provides everything in the basic offering and provides an extra commitment or devotion to the development of
Ananda in Australia.

Core Values of Ananda Members

Membership in Ananda is an expression of your support for this spiritual work, and of your desire to join with others in spiritual community and fellowship which values:

Maintaining a regular, personal spiritual practice (sadhana)
Learning and living the teachings of Self-realisation, to awaken our highest potential
Make time to support and join with other devotees who share a spiritual path

Ananda means "divine joy," and our motto is Joy is within you. We hope to share the joy that we experience with others and to help uplift them and make the world a better place.

Monthly Giving

Core Community members make a regular monthly donation of $50/month. Many members tithe 10% of their household income, some tithe a smaller percent, and others donate a fixed amount as they wish during the year.

Who can become a Member?

Most members are also disciples of Paramhansa Yogananda. Many practice the meditation technique of Kriya Yoga. But these are not requirements for membership. Some Ananda members follow other spiritual paths. What everyone has in common is this: their spiritual lives are nourished in some way by their connection with Ananda. Often that means connections with people — people who lift us up or inspire us in some way, or who deeply understand us and help remind us of higher ideals.

“To have fun,” replied Swami Kriyananda. Once people stopped laughing at this unexpected answer, he added, “What I mean by having fun is this: experiencing God within, enjoying His presence in one another, and sharing the Divine with all.”

What do membership fees go towards?

Ananda members' fees in Australia go towards the following:

Online meetings and recordings, webinar (ad-free) platforms for sharing materials during classes, hosting websites and subscription capabilities.
Participation of sangha in global Ananda Online offerings. Including access to Crystal Clarity book club with resources in Australia library for seva team.
Donations to ministers supporting our offerings in USA, India, and globally -- including tithing.
Ceremony supplies and event materials.
Promotional handouts, printing and marketing online for outreach and connecting with new devotees.
Mailings to devotees that provide sense of ongoing connection and community, providing spiritual support through gifts and or fulfilling book orders for Path of Kriya course students throughout the year.
Insurance for volunteers and required training to meet ACNC requirements. Risk assessment and safety plan development, including waivers.
Retreat venue fees for collective members meeting in person for annual sangha 'reunion' and or assisting with costs related to hosting guest kriyacharyas for annual kriya ceremonies in person.
